
Loretta Riach is an artist and writer from Aotearoa New Zealand.
They make art and write about geological timescales, ghosts, folk and country music, extinct birds, partying, their grandmothers, Antarctica, people they’re in love with, working in art galleries, working in kitchens, volcanoes, dogs, Phar Lap, swimming in rivers, et cetera.
Their poetry has been published in places that include Starling, Sweet Mammalian, Takahē, Minarets, Ōrongohau | Best New Zealand Poems, and The Spinoff.
Originally from Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland, they’re now based in Naarm/Melbourne.
