Loretta Riach is an interdisciplinary artist and writer from Aotearoa New Zealand.
Their practice involves investigations of timespans, fields of ecology, geology, and social history, and ideas of reconnection and reciprocity with land. Centring more-than-human and nonliving entities forms key aspects of their work, as does a strongly felt sense of place. Their current practice spans writing, sculpture, and painting, with an interest in organic and recycled material.
Their poetry has been published in places that include Starling, Sweet Mammalian, Takahē, Minarets, Ōrongohau | Best New Zealand Poems, and The Spinoff.
Originally from Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland, they’re now based in Naarm/Melbourne.
